How mobile games were created

These days, it’s almost impossible to do without a smartphone. It’s a device that allows you to find out the information you need at any time, or to pass the time in a queue, when you’re travelling, and so on. But it wasn’t always available. We need to look at how the industry began to develop.

Which game was the first?

Of course, you could say that the rudiments of the game have been around since the first device, but that actually happened in 1997. Today, every Nokia owner probably knows about the popular game Snake, and that was the first one. The demand for a phone with the game was enormous.

But since then, technology has actively evolved and games have improved.

Further development

With the advent of WAP technology, which allowed the games to connect to the network, even more active development of technology began. After all, now you can add a browser to your phone, and when you connect to the server, the player receives all the data you need. And since in 1999 there were little problems with the Internet and not much was expected of it, the public was very enthusiastic about this game option.

In the same year, the Finnish manufacturer released another model, the Nokia 7100, but here the game version was already upgraded. A few years later, a console phone appeared to compete with other games. Although such a device did not find popularity, but still gave an impetus to further modernization.

So what influenced gaming?

Over time, the market began to offer the consumer options like the Nokia5 or the BlackBerry with 3D graphics and a sophisticated interface. But all of these with added networking features.  And over time, all the games became not just beautiful, but also interesting. And in 2007 this all changed when the first iPhone saw the light of day.

Thanks to the touch screen, it was possible to reach huge heights thanks to the fact that there was the ability to control movement. And there were improved graphics, the ability to connect to a network and additional features.

App Store

Arguably the main success factor that made the iPhone popular was the creation of the official App Store. As early as 2008 anyone who owned a device was able to download any software, some for a fee, but most were free. So the manufacturer made it possible to play thousands of different games.

But over time, users began to question the need to pay money to download. And since that time, versions of games began to appear where the free version only worked fully if you bought the paid version. The developer was successful, as many people paid for additional features in the game.
